Our approach to second-language acquisition — concise and to the point.

The ARTICOBAR Sprachschule

ARTICOBAR Sprachschule is a language school offering German courses in second language acquisition. Second language means the language is learned in the target country, i.e. in Switzerland.

We want to support people from non-German-speaking backgrounds in finding their way in Swiss society and integrating. Language courses take place in welcoming, well-appointed meeting places.

Language teaching

Our teaching follows a didactic principle that starts from the respective target group: participants contribute their prior knowledge, resources are activated and new language knowledge is built on this foundation.

  • Scenario-based

    Participants bring topics from their everyday language life into the course: when and where do I need German in my daily life?

  • Action-oriented

    What is learned is applied directly in everyday life — when shopping, at the doctor's, at the authorities, at work, in a restaurant.

Individual learning

Every learner is a unique individual. In their own, valuable way, each participant contributes in class and helps create a good group and learning climate.

Learning motivation arises when learning barriers are removed and each person's resources are valued.
